Google Maps Aims to Put an End to Traffic Jams

Google Maps Has a New Approach to End Traffic Jams (hopefully once and for all) We have all been stuck in traffic and thought, "Google Maps does a great job showing me traffic, but isn't there a better solution?"  Well, it looks like Google Maps is on it. And they are flipping the script on how we deal with traffic. Understanding 'Ghost Traffic' The term 'Ghost Traffic' might sound strange and new, but it is being used to refer to a common scenario: traffic comes to a sudden stop not because of an accident or roadwork, but due to a driver braking abruptly—perhaps in reaction to a billboard or a pothole. This causes a chain reaction, leaving drivers puzzled about the cause of the slowdown. Google has delved into this phenomenon, seeking ways to smooth out these sudden stops that lead to unnecessary congestion. Google's approach to solve this  There's certainly going to be a lot of great tech and algorithms to solve for this but a good way to underst

Jamaal Jamaloo Bobby Deoloo

Bobby Deol, a star of the 90s and 2000s, gradually vanished from mainstream cinema. It was quite a surprise when I learned about his unexpected stint as a DJ, coinciding with the emergence of 'Lord Bobby' memes online. His return was on web series, but it was in the film 'Animal', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga (known for 'Kabir Singh' and 'Arjun Reddy'), where I saw him again on the big screen. In 'Animal', Bobby plays a pivotal character, whose presence is felt only after a key moment in the plot. His entry is striking, marked by a background song that caught my attention. Even as I was engrossed in the film's progression, the song stayed with me, and it quickly gained popularity online as 'Jamal Jamaloo', topping YouTube searches. Bobby's screen presence in those moments, and throughout the movie, was undeniably captivating. His performance required a wide range of expressions, adding depth to his character. Alongside him, Sau

Broadening the world view!

This weekend I have been giving a lot of thought around how  companies have established themselves. And my favorites are Tesla, Uber, and Amazon. How Elon Musk, Travis Kalanick and Jeff Bezos really made these companies and how they scaled them to these levels. I am currently reading The Everything Store   and have reached the part where Bezos meets Google founders and invests in the enterprise when it was a small company. Looking forward to read the later chapters because the story is quite inspiring. What I am really getting to is that how do these entrepreneurs think and how they eventually create foundations to their businesses. And I thought lets go one by one, apart from having watched almost every video since last few years on wherever these entreprenuers made their presence I also ended reading extensively on them. I also re watched a couple of the videos to get some gripping thoughts. I feel I should go one by one to get to the bigger picture - Travis Kalanick - I have be

Is India evolving and building the best film directors of tomorrow?

The absolute hurry with which transformation and evolution have hit our dear country, it is lovely to see how fast we as an audience are looking at cinema and films. Entertainment is the pillar but how we entertain, and the narrative with which a message is conveyed is something that has changed to a large extent in our country. All thanks to the really bright minds from our country’s budding film industry who are trying to make a mark on the world map. The current generation is getting accustomed much faster to global films, from Shawshank Redemption, Shutter Island, to Blood Diamond, to Django Unchained, and the latest Wolf of Wall Street. And so are our changing preferences with the kinds of TV shows we watch, we've moved from Friends to shows like Entourage, Suits, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and House of Cards, each belonging to different sets of drama. With so many changes, in terms of the technology and availability, that helped us watch global cinema in the last dec

The Dove takes her flight...

The dove, takes her flight A dove sat all alone, and noticed where she ended up, Spoke to people around, and realized that this is not probably what she wanted, time passed, and she found places where words mean something, and so do people,  where the paths are anew and the ways are just a few, she took a stride like a midnight's tide, a stride who's moon was a goal, touched the sky, broke the glass ceiling,  and she made her way to space without whining, silence is virtue, sarcasm known by so few, she welcomed the bad days and the bad weathers with moods anew, heard, but never cared,  worked towards excellence, she was always prepared, Tell her something, and she might doubt you for being so good, Its the experiences that shes had, and some bad probably could, Who rules her is something unimaginable, Alexander the great too would've said I'm incapable, All she needs is herself, And Herself is all that she needs, Doves are white, peaceful as ever, Take care of themselv

The Dichotomy Of Fame !

Rockstar, an immensely well directed, well thought of, well pictured, and well delivered film. A movie that has shown that there are directors in this film industry who can come out of their comfort zone, and make something that is totally unique in itself. Rockstar has crossed all the boundaries of telling how a love story is told, especially to the Indian audiences. We are so pampered with the usual ways of watching movies, and we know come what may, the end has to be a "Happy Ending". I have been observing this trend since sometime, with movies like Anusha Rizvi's "Peepli Live", Kiran Rao's "Dhobi Ghat", Anurag Kashyap's "That Girl in Yellow Boots", these movies have delivered something that Indian audiences will take time to adopt to. I termed the movie "dhobi ghat" as an "art film". It took a lot of time for me to understand what the stories wanted to say. It certainly is a new step into film making, someth

The Advertiser

Management books say " Advertising  is a form of  communication  used to  persuade  an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to take some action with respect to products, ideas, or services" . The 'management' definition is better kept in the books that we students read. What is more important is how an advertisement changes the perception of the society and the way it thinks."Kuch Khaas hai Zindagi mein , Kuch Khaas hai hum sabhi mein",(There is something special about Life, There is something special in all of us) .These lines were used for the Cadbury ads that literally boomed the sales of Cadbury and also gave a sense of individuality to people of the country that was still young and its society was still adamant to express its desries. "Har Ghar kuch kehta hai", a brilliantly scripted poem for Asian Paints worked wonders for the company to create an image for itself in the minds of the people. Who would have ever thought that an ad could t
