Jamaal Jamaloo Bobby Deoloo

Bobby Deol, a star of the 90s and 2000s, gradually vanished from mainstream cinema. It was quite a surprise when I learned about his unexpected stint as a DJ, coinciding with the emergence of 'Lord Bobby' memes online. His return was on web series, but it was in the film 'Animal', directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga (known for 'Kabir Singh' and 'Arjun Reddy'), where I saw him again on the big screen. In 'Animal', Bobby plays a pivotal character, whose presence is felt only after a key moment in the plot. His entry is striking, marked by a background song that caught my attention. Even as I was engrossed in the film's progression, the song stayed with me, and it quickly gained popularity online as 'Jamal Jamaloo', topping YouTube searches. Bobby's screen presence in those moments, and throughout the movie, was undeniably captivating. His performance required a wide range of expressions, adding depth to his character. Alongside him, Saurabh Sachdeva, known for his roles in 'Sacred Games' and 'Jaane Jaan', delivers a commendable performance, complementing Bobby's character with a similar screen time. Saurabh's talent deserves its own recognition. I hope Bobby Deol continues to land such intense and impactful roles, showcasing his ability to command the screen. Meanwhile, enjoy this song even if you don't watch the movie.

The Dichotomy Of Fame !

Rockstar, an immensely well directed, well thought of, well pictured, and well delivered film. A movie that has shown that there are directors in this film industry who can come out of their comfort zone, and make something that is totally unique in itself. Rockstar has crossed all the boundaries of telling how a love story is told, especially to the Indian audiences. We are so pampered with the usual ways of watching movies, and we know come what may, the end has to be a "Happy Ending". I have been observing this trend since sometime, with movies like Anusha Rizvi's "Peepli Live", Kiran Rao's "Dhobi Ghat", Anurag Kashyap's "That Girl in Yellow Boots", these movies have delivered something that Indian audiences will take time to adopt to. I termed the movie "dhobi ghat" as an "art film". It took a lot of time for me to understand what the stories wanted to say. It certainly is a new step into film making, someth...

Is India evolving and building the best film directors of tomorrow?

The absolute hurry with which transformation and evolution have hit our dear country, it is lovely to see how fast we as an audience are looking at cinema and films. Entertainment is the pillar but how we entertain, and the narrative with which a message is conveyed is something that has changed to a large extent in our country. All thanks to the really bright minds from our country’s budding film industry who are trying to make a mark on the world map. The current generation is getting accustomed much faster to global films, from Shawshank Redemption, Shutter Island, to Blood Diamond, to Django Unchained, and the latest Wolf of Wall Street. And so are our changing preferences with the kinds of TV shows we watch, we've moved from Friends to shows like Entourage, Suits, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and House of Cards, each belonging to different sets of drama. With so many changes, in terms of the technology and availability, that helped us watch global cinema in the last dec...

Google Maps Aims to Put an End to Traffic Jams

Google Maps Has a New Approach to End Traffic Jams (hopefully once and for all) We have all been stuck in traffic and thought, "Google Maps does a great job showing me traffic, but isn't there a better solution?"  Well, it looks like Google Maps is on it. And they are flipping the script on how we deal with traffic. Understanding 'Ghost Traffic' The term 'Ghost Traffic' might sound strange and new, but it is being used to refer to a common scenario: traffic comes to a sudden stop not because of an accident or roadwork, but due to a driver braking abruptly—perhaps in reaction to a billboard or a pothole. This causes a chain reaction, leaving drivers puzzled about the cause of the slowdown. Google has delved into this phenomenon, seeking ways to smooth out these sudden stops that lead to unnecessary congestion. Google's approach to solve this  There's certainly going to be a lot of great tech and algorithms to solve for this but a good way to underst...
